CAP - CADET ACTIVITY PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES - CLICK HERE FOR COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
OUR LOCATION IS HALTON. Please note that we do have some flexibility if a cadet would like to attend a different CAP site in order to make it easier for parents to bring their cadet to a location closer to work or where they live. These requests should be sent to your Commanding Officer for review.
1. The following pre-requisites are common to all opportunities:
a. Must have a complete annual validation with the cadet corps;
b. Must have their medical conditions validated with the cadet corps;
c. Must be recommended by their Corps/Sqn CO; and
d. Cadet must have no participation limitations that would preclude them from participating in the training of the course.
. Course/Opportunity specific prerequisites are as follows:
COURSE SPECIFIC MINIMUM PREREQUISITES / DETAILS
3. Staff Cadet Opportunities:
a. Prerequisites are as follows:
(1) Must be 16 years of age prior to serial start date; and
(2) Must be year 4 qualified;
b. Corps/Sqns submitting applications should take into consider the following:
(1) Selections will be made by J35 with input from the Areas and CTCs. Regional Training staff will assist in providing input on selection of staff cadets supporting expedition and sailing courses;
(2) Corps/Sqn staff are to clearly put on the Staff Cadets application their preference for course (Example: Expedition, Seamanship, Training Support). Applications are able to be placed for multiple opportunities (for example: 2 applications, 1 for CTC Blackdown and 1 for CTC Trenton); and
(3) Staff Cadets selected for 3 week courses will be able to apply for employment for their local CAP as well. Corps/Sqn staff are to ensure that both applications are submitted via Fortress.
4. National Cadet Advisory Council (NCAC):
a. Minimum prerequisites are as follows: Must be 16 years of age at serial start;
b. Priority may begiven to cadets who are bilingual in both official languages;
c. Must have a current Cadet365 account;
d. Cadets applying for the NCAC must submit the following documents in support of their application:
(1) Letter of introduction from their Corps/Sqn CO; and
(2) Letter of interest from the cadets applying, reflecting their cadet training experience, leadership experience and confirm their language proficiency in both official languages;
e. The letter of interest should include the cadets contact information (Email and Phone Number) and be submitted to Joey.Landry2@forces.gc.ca NLT 24 Feb 23;
